Catherine Zuniga
Entrepreneur, Educator, Author, Creator, and lifelong Nurse, Cathy has been active in healthcare for over 3 decades! Her bedside clinical experience is VAST! Encompassing Critical Care specialties such as: MICU, CCU, SICU, NeuroICU, Interventional Radiology (Body & Neuro IR), and Clinical West Coast Educator for the Arctic Sun™ focusing on Targeted Temperature Management (TTM). In 2016, after her second son was born, she transitioned into Perianesthesia Nursing, Phase I PACU in Bend, Oregon. In the Fall of 2019 she passed the Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse test, (CPAN®). She has worked in multiple West Coast Perioperative/Perianesthesia departments and discovered a systemic need for specialty education. This led her to create PACU Nursing Minutes (PNM) YouTube channel in September of 2020. Viewer and subscriber growth has been consistent. This growth grew Cathy's confidence to begin her dream job, to be a full-time perianesthesia educator! But, instead of working for a hospital she is now a nurse entrepreneur contributing to her fellow Nursing tribe! To date PNM has helped 93 RN's obtain CAPA® or CPAN® certification in Perioperative Nursing!
"Nurses ARE My WHY!"
The PNM channel grew into a nurse entrepreneur business; obtaining licensing & accreditation in May of 2021. The Mission statement of PACU Nursing Minutes LLC states; "To provide evidence-based perianesthesia education that equips and empowers nurses to care for patients in all phases of care. Education that enhances and changes practice based on evidence. Education that improves patient outcomes through excellence in care and creates strong healthcare teams." "I look forward to teaching the next generation of Nurses."
Nurse Cathy began working in healthcare at 15 years old as a CNA, LPN at 17, and BSN at 21 class of 2000, Neumann University, Aston, PA.
